Wat Ketkaram, worship the Buddha relics for those born in the Year of the Dog.

#VisitChiangMai 🙏Wat Ketkaram is an ancient temple in Chiang Mai. It was built in 1971 during the reign of King Sam Fang Kaen. Inside the temple is Phra That Wat Ket or Phra That Chedi Kesa Kaew Chulamani, which has been designated as the representative of Chedi Kesa Kaew Chulamani, enshrined in the Daowadungsa heaven. Since humans cannot reach this chedi, you can worship the chedi at Wat Ketkaram, which has the same name as Phra Kesa Kaew Chulamani. Lanna people believe that Phra That Chedi Kesa Kaew Chulamani is the chedi for people born in the year of the dog. They should travel to worship the chedi for their birth year once in their life for good luck. Therefore, you can come to worship Phra Chedi Kesa Kaew Chulamani at this temple. Other interesting things in the temple include: 🙏The Vihara, built in the Rattanakosin period, is a brick and mortar building with three entrances and a five-tiered gable roof. It is so beautiful that no other temple can compare. It enshrines a beautiful principal Buddha image in accordance with Buddhist characteristics. 🙏The Ubosot is only open for ordination ceremonies. And women are not allowed to go up. The exterior of the chapel is decorated with beautiful patterns that are hard to find, including golden wooden carvings of deities, Chinese-style stucco sculptures of unicorns, dragons, fish, and trees, as well as a naga staircase where two nagas crawl out from the chapel walls. 😀 The old Dhamma school building is a two-story wooden house, beautifully decorated with carved wooden patterns on the gable and various corners. 😃 Wat Ket Karam is located on Charoen Rat Road, Wat Ket Subdistrict, Mueang Chiang Mai District, Chiang Mai Province.
