Buppharam Temple

Wat Buppararam, Chiang Mai Province is a temple of Chiang Mai that King Muang Kaew, the 12th king of Lanna of the Mangrai Dynasty, ordered to be built. A small chapel that still preserves the ancient style, has Phra Phuttha Thai Phalaprasit Chok inside. The large chapel is a Lanna art chapel decorated with Burmese stucco patterns. It enshrines the Phra Phuttha Maha Patimakorn, a Lanna art that is cast entirely in bronze weighing 1 crore and Santhi (continued) 8 places, and there are 2 more Chiang Saen style Buddha images on the left and right, both cast in bronze. Inside the chapel, there are paintings of the life of the Buddha and the Maha Vessantara Jataka, which are painted in pastel colors. Hom Na Thian Tham, 1st floor, has sculptures of stories of Chiang Mai. 2 enshrines Phra Phuttha Nares Sakchai Phairin Pinat. A teak Buddha statue with a lap width of more than 1 wa, approximately 400 years old. The Lanna-style pagoda enshrines the relics of the Lord Buddha. According to the legend of the pagoda, Phraya Muang Kaew built the pagoda in the year of the Goat, 872 CE.
