Huahua and Ye sit side by side, tilting their heads to eat bamboo

At the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, giant pandas Huahua and Ye sit side by side, tilting their heads to eat bamboo. The younger sister sits outside with a bigger face, while the older sister sits inside with a just-right face, creating a very cute scene. The base is located in the northern suburbs of Chengdu, about 10 kilometers from the city center. It fully simulates the wild living environment of giant pandas, featuring lakes, streams, bamboo forests, and many "panda villas." When the weather is cool, giant pandas play in the open-air gardens, and visitors can watch them through railings. The new area of the panda base also allows visitors to see pandas, including honored pandas whose homes are larger and have more space to roam. A must-visit landmark in the new area is the popular Panda Tower, which is 69.8 meters tall with 11 floors. Its shape resembles a large bamboo shoot, and the interior looks like a hibiscus flower, with 81 platforms for visitors to enjoy the view. There is also a new art museum using innovative exhibition methods, as well as informative science display boards and interactive facilities.
