Originally called Guangming Hutong, the street got its current name from the Kuixing Pavilion in Guandi Temple, located in the west of the early Republic of China. Kuixing was considered a god of literature and fortune since ancient times, and it was a place where scholars prayed for passing the imperial examination. The street is about 500m long, and the traditional Chengdu architecture and modern elements combine to create a unique landscape. Various creative murals decorate both sides of the street, adding to the artistic atmosphere, and the dense concentration of restaurants and cafes has established it as a representative gourmet street in Chengdu. In particular, the remodeling of this place began in earnest in 2013, and it has developed into a cultural and creative center and has become one of Chengdu's cultural symbols.
