Du Fu Thatched Cottage, besides the poet's traces, is also a picturesque garden for photography

Du Fu Thatched Cottage is the former residence of the great Tang Dynasty poet Du Fu during his stay in Chengdu. Here, he composed over 240 poems, such as 'The Song of the Thatched Cottage Broken by Autumn Wind,' 'Happy Rain on a Spring Night,' and 'The Prime Minister of Shu.' 📍 No. 37 Qinghua Road, Qingyang District, Chengdu, Sichuan Province. The Thatched Cottage was built by Du Fu on the banks of Huanhua Stream in the western suburbs of Chengdu. The original site is no longer traceable, and this is a replica based on the style of Tang Dynasty thatched cottages, recreating the scenes of the poet's life. The Grand Hall: Upon entering, you will see an open hall-style building with a statue of Du Fu inside. Further in is the Shrine of the Ministry of Works, with a shrine dedicated to Du Fu in the center. On the east and west sides are statues of Southern Song poet Lu You and Northern Song poet Huang Tingjian, respectively. Nearby is the stele inscription of Shaoling Thatched Cottage. Du Fu's Poetry Path: A small path flanked by red walls similar to those at the Wuhou Shrine. At the end of the path is the 'Thatched Cottage Shadow Wall,' with the characters 'Thatched Cottage' inlaid with blue and white porcelain fragments by Zhou Shanpei, the late Qing Dynasty Sichuan Industrial Promotion Commissioner. It has been damaged and repaired several times. When great figures visited the cottage, they would gaze at these characters for a long time. The Hall of Great Elegance: Inside the hall are large glazed inlaid lacquer murals and 12 statues of famous poets from various dynasties. Garden Environment: The environment inside Du Fu Thatched Cottage is serene, with lush trees, dense bamboo groves, and an ancient, elegant atmosphere. It feels like a tranquil oasis in the bustling city. Recommended route: Enter from the south gate and exit from the north gate.
