According to the introduction👇🏻 1️⃣Maha Pond was originally built in the second year of the Kaihuang era of Emperor Yang of Sui (585 AD), initially as a large pit left from the excavation for the construction of the Chengdu sub-city by Yang Xiu, the governor of Yizhou during the Sui Dynasty; 2️⃣Shu King Yang Xiu expanded on the basis of the Chengdu sub-city, further increasing the area of the pit; 3️⃣During the Tang Dynasty, the accumulated water was connected to canals, turning it into a tourist area; 4️⃣In the fifth year of Shu Yongping (915 AD), Maha Pond was incorporated into the imperial gardens; 5️⃣In the third year of the Republic of China (1914), Maha Pond was completely filled in and used as a drill ground. 6️⃣In 2008, the Chengdu archaeological team discovered the southern boundary of the Maha Pond from the Ming Dynasty on the west side of Tianfu Square. 7️⃣In 2014, the Chengdu archaeological team confirmed the eastern boundary of Maha Pond during the archaeological excavation at the Donghuamen site. 🌱In addition to cultural relics, Maha Pond Park has a very nice environment, lush greenery, birds singing and flowers fragrant, walking here in spring is naturally very pleasant!
