Before choosing a hotel, I went to a teahouse to learn a bit, and saw that everyone said that Marriott in Chengdu was not very good, which made me clench up instantly, but no matter what, I still had to stay at a Marriott. Heeding advice, I chose the JW and St. Regis near Tianfu Square, booking each for 4 nights. The location of JW is excellent, as if you've placed a hotel right beside the Forbidden City in Beijing. The dining is also good, with service that outperforms most hotels in the north. The rooms and public facilities are relatively new, and the decor is not particularly outstanding, with some facilities not installed perfectly level, which makes it impossible for someone with OCD to take pictures ^_^ The breakfast variety is not extensive, but the ingredients are fresh and tasty, featuring local specialties like pork intestine noodles, red oil wontons, fermented glutinous rice ball soup, and beef flatbread. The lounge is fantastic, with a rich variety, and almost every night there is spicy diced chicken. The construction on the north side of the hotel by Mao Ye's northern area has been halted after laying the foundation, the complex on the south side looks like an unfinished building, and the building on the west side is almost vacant. Such a prime location shouldn't be like this, I wonder what's going on.
