Chengde Outer Eight Temples

Driving along National Highway 228, we arrived at the Outer Eight Temples located in Chengde City, Hebei Province. Starting from Shanhaiguan, head north along National Highway 228, passing Qinhuangdao, Tangshan, and Chengde, and then continue north to reach the Outer Eight Temples. The Outer Eight Temples are one of the Qing Dynasty's royal temples, housing numerous Buddha statues including Guanyin Bodhisattva, Manjushri Bodhisattva, and Samantabhadra Bodhisattva. The temple architecture is exquisite and grand, making it an important heritage of Buddhist culture. At the entrance of the scenic area, you can see a stone lion, one of the iconic structures of the Outer Eight Temples. Inside the scenic area, there are a series of ancient-style buildings, including nine temples: Huayan Temple, Putuo Zongcheng Temple, Xumi Fushou Temple, Puning Temple, Shuxiang Temple, Pule Temple, Guang'an Temple, Anyuan Temple, and Putuo Zongcheng Temple. During the visit, you can hear the chanting of the monks and see their sincere prayers and practices. You can also learn about the history and teachings of Buddhism and feel the profoundness of Buddhist culture. In short, the Outer Eight Temples is a place well worth visiting.
