Puning Temple

Puning Temple is located in Shuangqiao District, Chengde City, Hebei Province. It was built during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty and is a Han-Tibetan temple. The front half of the temple is Han-style, with the characteristics of traditional Han Buddhist temples; the back half is Tibetan-style, modeled after the Sangye Temple in Tibet. The two different architectural styles are integrated into one. The entire temple is magnificent, covering an area of about 23,000 square meters. The main Buddha statue of Puning Temple is the Thousand-Handed and Thousand-Eyed Guanyin Bodhisattva, with a total height of 27.21 meters. It is a gold-painted wood carving of the Thousand-Handed and Thousand-Eyed Guanyin Bodhisattva.
