Shuangta Mountain Scenic Area Located in Shuangrun District, Chengde City, Hebei Province, ten kilometers southwest of the Mountain Resort, it is a national scenic spot and a national 4A-level scenic spot. The scenic area has a total area of ​​600,000 square meters, a forest coverage rate of 70%, and an average altitude of 400 meters. It is a sub-area of ​​the Outer Eight Temples Scenic Area of ​​Chengde Mountain Resort. It is a tourist area in Chengde city that combines nature and culture, integrating tourism, sightseeing, scientific research, and vacation. The two ancient towers on Shuangta Mountain were built about 1,300 years ago and are said to be masterpieces of the Khitan people. The name "Shuangta Mountain" was first seen in the "Qin Ding Rehe River Chronicle" of the Qing Dynasty, and the "Chengde Prefecture Chronicle" records: "There is an ancient temple on the top of the East Pagoda (South Peak). It is unknown who built it. It has collapsed. There is a small stele next to it with the three characters "Wang Xiansheng" engraved on it." In the 1990s, the scenic area built a spiral iron staircase leading to the top of the peak, but it was later demolished due to concerns about damage to cultural relics. Shuangta Mountain Scenic Area was officially opened to the public on May 1, 1998. The two huge rock pillars of Shuangta Mountain stand side by side from north to south, resembling pagodas, hence the name Shuangta Mountain. The main scenic spot of Shuangta Mountain Scenic Area, Shuangta Peak, is one of the ten famous mountains in Chengde and the first scenic spot in Chengde. It is a typical Danxia landform in Chengde. There is a tower on each of the 30-meter-high stone pillars. Emperors Kangxi, Qianlong and Jiaqing of the Qing Dynasty as well as famous civil and military officials visited the temple many times, and their relics are recorded here. There are nearly 30 natural landscapes in Shuangta Mountain Scenic Area, including the Ape Man Stone, Camel Peak, Golden Turtle Stone, and Sword-Testing Stone, which complement the cultural landscapes such as the Three Immortals Temple, the Hundred-meter Corridor, and the Reclining Buddha. The scenic spots are evenly distributed, and the tourist routes form a loop without repetition.
