Hiking Guide to Yuelu Mountain | The Most Beautiful Mountain Loop Route

📍Route: Dongfanghong Square➡️South Gate➡️Yuelu Academy➡️Aiwan Pavilion➡️Command Headquarters➡️Lushan Temple➡️Monument to Revolutionary Martyrs➡️Yunlu Palace Viewing Platform➡️Mountaintop Viewing Platform➡️Chuan Shipo Lake First stop: Dongfanghong Square (P1) Starting point of the hike, check in with the statue of Chairman Mao. Second stop: South Gate (P2) Walk through the Hunan University Food Street and enter Yuelu Mountain from the South Gate. (Remember to book in advance during holidays) Third stop: Yuelu Academy (P3-P5) Turn right at the entrance and you will see Yuelu Academy. It was once a sacred place for ancient scholars to pursue knowledge, and the sound of strings has been heard for thousands of years. (Great atmosphere for photos!) Fourth stop: Aiwan Pavilion (P6-P7) Walk further and you will reach Aiwan Pavilion. In autumn, Aiwan Pavilion is just like the description in Chairman Mao's writing: "See the mountains all red, and the forests all dyed." Fifth stop: Former Site of the Command Headquarters of the Anti-Japanese War (P8) After Aiwan Pavilion, climb the stairs and you will see the former site of the command headquarters of the Anti-Japanese War. This place records the years of war. Sixth stop: Lushan Temple (P9-P11) You can take a break at Lushan Temple and listen to the bell of the ancient temple. Seventh stop: Monument to Revolutionary Martyrs (P12) Continue to climb the stairs and you will see many monuments to revolutionary martyrs. Countless heroes who sacrificed themselves for the country and the people are buried here. Each monument records their heroic deeds. Eighth stop: Yunlu Palace Viewing Platform (P13-P14) The best place to overlook Changsha! Enjoy the panoramic view of the city! Ninth stop: Mountaintop Viewing Platform (P15) The sense of accomplishment of reaching the top! Standing here, you will feel the pride of "standing on the top of the mountain, overlooking the mountains and rivers." Tenth stop: Chuan Shipo Lake (P16) End of the hike!
