You can't make loud noises in the museum, so tour guides now give each person a headset. If you want to listen in on a tour, you have to stand next to the guide, which is a bit difficult... Mawangdui is actually enough to visit once at the Hunan Museum. If you're not an archaeology enthusiast, there's no need to visit the Mawangdui tomb pit. The Hunan Museum was founded in the Qing Dynasty during the reign of Emperor Guangxu, and the current location is a new site. The museum is so popular because of the three-story Mawangdui Exhibition Hall (from the third floor to the first floor). The Mawangdui Han Tombs are rated as one of the world's top ten ancient tomb treasures, with the world's most famous "plain gauze robe," "T-shaped silk painting," and one of the tomb owners, "Lady Xin Zhui," herself. There are also beautiful lacquerware, Han wooden figurines comparable to the Terracotta Warriors, silk books proving that Laozi's Tao Te Ching was originally the De Ching, exquisite Hunan embroidery, a magnificent inner coffin, and more. From the third floor to the first floor, the three floors of exhibition rooms make you marvel at the profoundness of our ancient culture, the intelligence and wisdom of our ancestors, and the advanced social productivity. It's like the first time you see the Sanxingdui exhibition, or the first time you see the treasures of the Famen Temple Museum.
