Changsha Weekend Trip - Checking in at Yanghu Water Street

The beauty of life lies in unexpected encounters. On the morning of April 13th, after checking in at the Xie Zilong Photography Art Museum, the original plan was to take a stroll in Yangsha Lake Wetland Park in the afternoon, but unexpectedly, I ended up at Yanghu Water Street, which backs onto the wetland park. My little one was captivated, and our park visit turned into an old street tour. Nonetheless, it was indeed worth the visit. 🌟Most recommended: 🌟1. Free attractions, and just over ten meters to the left of the entrance to Yanghu Water Street is the entrance to Yangsha Lake Wetland Park. If you have the stamina, you can enjoy both the wetland park and the water street. Nearby, there are also the Xie Zilong Photography Art Museum and the Li Zijian Art Museum (the two museums are next to each other). 🌟2. There are quite a few small game stalls that children like, with ring tossing being the most common and relatively affordable. My little one played two: 🔫 One is shooting balloons at the entrance of Yanghu Water Street. For 20 yuan, you get 20 bullets, and after shooting, you can choose a small gift for free, or if you don't want the gift, you can get another 20 bullets. Probably because the distance was quite close, my little one became a 'sharpshooter', hitting 16 targets and winning a large gift - a 'hand-pushed rocket launcher'. The other is throwing sandbags at ducks, which was not too far from the children, and my little one hit several but didn't have enough strength to knock them down, only knocking down one. Fortunately, hitting one duck was enough to win a prize, and we got a wooden slingshot. 🌟3. The atmosphere of intangible cultural heritage. Although some venues were closed and others were under construction, one can still feel the cultural heritage that this water street originally intended to pass on. Watching sugar painting, 10 yuan per rabbit. 🌟4. The charm of the water towns in the south of the Yangtze River. With white walls, green tiles, stone paths, small bridges, flowing water, and black-awning boats, you can experience the charm of the Jiangnan water towns in Changsha. Suitable for checking in and taking photos. 🌟5. Nostalgia. Not far from the entrance to the water street, there is a 'Childhood Big Windmill' shop. The old-fashioned TV, childhood menu, vintage posters, and the music of 'The Girl Opposite, Look Over Here' by Ren Xianqi, along with the very retro food and goods, hit me right in the feels, truly giving a sense of 'the old general is aged'. 🗓Travel Route: 📍Yanghu Water Street is a north-south street that runs along one side of the Tan Zhou Avenue and along the Yanghu Wetland Park. If you count the round trip, 20 minutes should be enough. 🕙Our visit was from 13:50 to 15:40, roughly two hours. We entered from the main gate of Yanghu Water Street (probably the South Square), walked the main street with shops on both sides to the North Square, then walked back along the waterfront street, went up the stairs behind the Fengyu Building to the main street, and finally walked back to the main gate (near the gate there is an elevator down to the underground parking on the first floor). ✅Finally, here are some travel TIPS: ✅1. The black-awning boat costs 30 yuan per person. You can board at the North Square, and there is also a dock in the middle where you can board, but the boat ride seems quite short, probably to the Tingyu Building (where several boats are moored). ✅2. Yanghu Water Street and Yanghu Wetland Park are interconnected by a bridge. The Tingyu Building teahouse is actually transformed from the bridge itself, where you can go to the park and also enjoy the scenery on the first floor, which is very comfortable. Going down the stairs next to the Tingyu Building teahouse to the waterfront road, there is also a bridge that connects not far away. ✅3. There is a small train between the South and North Squares, 15 yuan per person. Because a team member ran out of stamina, we didn't go to Yanghu Wetland Park. We'll visit next time. Thanks for this unexpected encounter, and I hope Yanghu Water Street becomes more and more lively. Scatter flowers to conclude. 🌸🌸🌸
