It was built during the reign of King Rama VI. It was designed by Italian architect Ercole Manfredi, who combined European architecture with the wisdom of building a tropical home. The building has a Western hip roof, covered with terracotta tiles, surrounded by wooden balconies, simple but elegant geometric columns, and beautifully detailed carved wooden railings. The building is painted in a soft yellow color with dark green edges, creating a very peaceful feeling. "Mr. Maruekhathaiyawan Palace" is considered an example of sustainable architecture before the era.
