Hidden Gem of Toledo, Cebu

Lake Pingganon or famously known as Lake Bensis is the perfect place to go when you want to escape from the busy city life and relax to enjoy nature. Don't get me wrong, this place has no room accomodation so you need to pack up your camping stuff. There is a large camping area beside the lake where you can pitch your tent, or hang your hammock in between trees, sit and enjoy the majestic view of the lake. I've been here twice already and I will definitely go back soon. Though there aren't many things you can do here, you can have a unique experience of riding a balsa (bamboo float) for 50 pesos, best time to do this is early morning during sunrise. Also, they sell fresh catch Tilapia fish for only 100 pesos per kilo. To get there, disembark at Tabunok Public Market. Once there, just ask any habal-habal driver to take you to Lake Bensis. Since it is a secluded place, travel time is around 40-50 mins. Fare ranges from 150-250 pesos. The drivers know where to drop you off, at a chapel. From the chapel, the locals can guide you to the lake which takes about just a 10-15 mins hike. #adventure #lakes #travelinspiration
