Mysterious Venezuela

The plane finally landed at Caracas airport. After collecting information before departure, I found that Caracas is more dangerous than Colombia, ranking first in South America and comparable to Lagos in Nigeria. I have been to Lagos, a city where you can hear gunshots every night and a city where you don't feel safe once you leave the hotel. It's hard to describe my feelings. The real experience of Venezuela begins now. The day we arrived was Sunday afternoon, and the road from Caracas airport into the city was filled with cars returning from vacation. Venezuela's infrastructure is very poor, and Caracas has a high population density, so traffic jams are severe. Because the country does not restrict the import of used cars, a large proportion of them are old cars, with black smoke coming out of the rear of the cars. Broken down cars could be seen parked on the roadside for repairs everywhere, and women also repaired their own cars, which is rarely seen elsewhere. After nearly 2 hours, we finally arrived at the Melia Hotel, a Spanish 4-star hotel chain with a spacious lobby but outdated room facilities. It is a very good hotel in Caracas, mainly because it has a good sense of security. We went to a Chinese restaurant for dinner. The food tasted good. The security in Caracas is very poor. It ranks first in danger in South America, surpassing Bogota, Colombia. If you don’t have a reliable driver, you don’t dare to take a taxi because you don’t know where the driver will take you? What is waiting for you? Apart from friends, the most reliable way is to call a taxi through the hotel, which is safe and guaranteed. In Caracas, don’t think about money, personal safety comes first. In the Avila Mountain National Park, take the cable car to the top of the mountain and enjoy the sea view and the panoramic view of Caracas. This is a representative attraction in Caracas. It has many tourists, a complete range of restaurants and perfect service facilities. It is worth a visit. When we returned to the hotel, it was already dark. For safety reasons, we did not take a taxi and chose to have Western food in the restaurant. We went to the best hotel in the area. Its style was a bit like Oia Village on the Greek island of Santorini. The room was a small duplex with a bed upstairs and downstairs. It was a white building and quite interesting. In the afternoon, we took a week's worth of drinks and food, put on our swimsuits, and were taken to another small island by the store's speedboat. There were no buildings on the island, only two simple houses. All tourists who come to the island for vacation will be provided with a box of drinks, food, a parasol and two lounge chairs by the Big Island Hotel. Guests swim, sunbathe, and listen to music on the island. They agree with the hotel on a return time, and a speedboat comes to pick them up, taking away their belongings and garbage. The island is small, with lush vegetation, the sea water is light green and clear, and there are yachts moored not far away.
