A village on the edge

Madeira is an island with an abundance of beautiful coastal villages but Garajau may be the most stunning of them all. Located on a cliff top above the Atlantic Ocean, the village is famous for its Cristo Rei statue that overlooks the water and can be viewed as a mini version of the Christ the redeemer statue that overlooks Rio.
