Friends, you won't believe it! On this trip to Egypt, I discovered a hidden gem that's so breathtakingly beautiful, I just have to share it with you! Itinerary - Day 1: Arrive in Cairo in the morning and take a taxi to the hotel to check in. After a short rest, take a taxi to the Egyptian Museum. The museum houses a vast collection of artifacts, including the real Tutankhamun gold mask! You'll need at least 3 hours to fully explore this treasure trove of history. - Day 2: Charter a car early in the morning to the Giza pyramid complex. The pyramids truly live up to their reputation as a world wonder; the sense of awe is overwhelming. Spend half a day there, taking photos and soaking in the history. In the afternoon, visit the Sphinx and admire this ancient statue up close. - Day 3: Take a train to Luxor and take a taxi to your hotel upon arrival. In the afternoon, visit Luxor Temple. The architecture of this temple is magnificent, and 2–3 hours is just the right amount of time to explore it. - Day 4: Charter a car to the Valley of the Kings, the burial place of numerous pharaohs. Visit different tombs and uncover the mysteries of ancient Egypt. After half a day of exploration, return to Cairo. Highlights The grandeur of the Giza pyramid complex speaks for itself. Standing before them, you'll marvel at the smallness and greatness of humanity. The murals in the Valley of the Kings, still vibrant after thousands of years, tell the stories of the ancient Egyptian pharaohs. It's truly a paradise for history buffs. My favorite hidden gem is the White Desert. The white rocks, eroded by wind and sand, have formed all sorts of fantastic shapes, like mushrooms and castles. At sunset, the entire desert is bathed in gold, a breathtakingly beautiful sight. Food Recommendations Abou Tarek in Cairo is a must-try! Located near Tahrir Square, their koshari is simply divine. Noodles, rice, legumes, tomato sauce, and crispy fried onions create a symphony of flavors and textures in every bite. Another recommendation is Sheikh Ali in Luxor. Their signature roasted pigeon is crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, bursting with aromatic spices. Accommodation Experience In Cairo, I stayed at a hotel with pyramid views. The location was fantastic, with a direct view of the pyramids from my room. Waking up to the sunrise was an unforgettable experience. The hotel was clean, and the staff was very helpful in arranging various itineraries. In Luxor, I opted for a local homestay to experience the local culture. The homestay owner was kind enough to share various travel tips, making it a great value for money. Things to Note - Tickets for most attractions in Egypt can be booked online in advance, saving you valuable time. - Egypt has a dry and hot climate, so be sure to pack sunscreen, sunglasses, and moisturizing skincare products. - When taking a taxi or chartering a car, remember to negotiate the price beforehand to avoid being overcharged. - Respect local religious customs and dress modestly when visiting mosques.
