The bell weighs 25 tons, is 3.8 meters high and 2.3 meters in diameter, and the entire bell tower covers an area of ​​about 50 square meters. If you look closely, you will find that the bell is not smooth and has marks on it. This is a design to allow the bell sound to be better transmitted. There is also a flower bell next to the bell tower, hoping that ringing the bell will encourage citizens to "walk on the flower path" (a Korean term meaning smooth and safe journey). The bells are rung every year on March 1st Day, New Year's Eve, Liberation Day and Citizens' Day to commemorate the March 1st Movement. On special days, meritorious persons will be invited to participate in the activity of ringing the Citizen's Bell. In order to promote tourism in Busan, Yongdusan Park should be the most considerate park. There are escalators from Gwangbok-ro Pedestrian Street all the way up to the park. The authorities also use neon LEDs to showcase the features of various attractions in Busan. The large screen on the top plays promotional videos all day long.
