Imvutano n’imbega 🫠

If you get the chance to visit Burundi, do not miss out on a photoshoot with their traditional Royal outfits. The women wear a 3 pieces Imvutano and and the men wear a 2 pieces imbega with beads and an overall on top of the right shoulder. The beads have a meaning, the ones shaped as a crown 🤴🏿 is the King but nowadays it indicates the groom, they add a necklace made of Ivory and they carry spears « icumu », which is a symbol of Power. The women, their outfit is a symbol of modesty , the one tiny golden line on indicates the bride nowadays bit it used to designated the Queen mother or the queen. Shall i get started on ingoma?
