🇬🇧 Bristol | A Sunny Day by the Harbour? Let’s Go for a Stroll!

#bristoltrip 📍 Brunel’s SS Great Britain Great Western Dockyard, Gas Ferry Rd, Bristol BS1 6TY If the weather’s nice, there’s no better way to enjoy Bristol than walking along the harbour — and one of the most iconic stops is Brunel’s SS Great Britain! ⚓ About the Ship: Launched on July 19, 1843, the SS Great Britain was designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel, one of Britain’s greatest engineers. It was the first iron-hulled, propeller-driven steamship to cross the Atlantic — and the largest floating vessel of its time. A true marvel of Victorian engineering, it set the standard for modern ship design. 🌍 After 1846, the ship became a passenger liner for emigrants, helping thousands of Europeans chase new dreams across the seas. Known for being fast, elegant, and luxurious, it sailed over 1 million miles before retiring in 1937. Today, it’s been beautifully restored as a museum ship — and a proud symbol of Britain’s maritime history. 🎟 Tickets: To go onboard and explore the museum, a student ticket costs £18, and it’s valid for an entire year! I didn’t go inside this time, but I heard they have cool exhibitions and even costumes for dress-up photos — sounds super fun! ☕ Around the Harbour: Walking along the harbour is lovely — there are tons of cafés and food stalls, some even on boats! You’ll spot harbour cruise boats, families relaxing, runners enjoying the sun, and kids playing by the water. It’s got that perfect balance of peaceful and lively — a true Bristol vibe.
