Old Town Square in Bratislava, Slovakia

Visiting Bratislava feels like visiting an ancient town in Eastern Europe, not quite like being in the capital. There are two squares in the center of Bratislava's old town: the Main Square and the Franciscan Square (Frantiskanske namestie). Several landmark buildings are located in this area, including the city's oldest Gothic church, the Franciscan Church (Františkánsky kostol, also called Church of the Annunciation), built in 1297, and the Church of the Holy Saviour (Kostol Najsvätejšieho Spasitel'a), built in the 17th century. The Primate's Palace, built in the 18th century, has been converted into a museum. The Main Square (Hlavné námestie) is one of the most famous squares in Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia. It is located in the Old Town of Bratislava and is often considered the center of the city. The main landmarks on the square are the Bratislava Old Town Hall and the Roland Fountain
