The Sanctuary of Braga for the Portuguese

There is a saying in Portugal: Enjoy in Lisbon, work in Porto, study in Coimbra, and pray in Braga. As an ancient parish, Braga has a strong religious atmosphere, with churches everywhere and a fair number of tourists. The professor said that Braga has a simple local custom and is very safe. He took me to see the western city gate and mentioned that it would have been better if it was a sunny day. Looking through the city gate, the large sunset was incredibly beautiful. Then we visited the oldest Braga Cathedral, which, he said, has a history that predates that of Portugal itself. It was built over several centuries and bears rich traces of different eras, almost serving as a condensed history of Braga. The high domes inside the cathedral and the gold-plated decorations on both sides are very grand and luxurious. In the adjacent rooms, there are many coffins of local dignitaries and religious figures from various generations.
