Rev Up Your Engines for a Speeding Journey Through the History of the Corvette

#2024mapped Bowling Green, Kentucky, USA A visit during our spring break trip to the National Corvette Museum were we got to experience the legacy of America’s Sports Car, the Chevrolet Corvette. The kids even got a free Hot Wheels Corvette to take home. The museum showcased the history that spans over seven decades, the evolution of the design, engineering, and of course the Chevy spirit. There were lots of interactive exhibits and rare memorabilia. The Museum truly was a celebration of innovation, speed, and the appeal of the Corvette, it was a fun journey through time for our family. I enjoyed the sink hole exhibit, in 2014 a sinkhole collapsed in the Skydome of the museum. No one was in the building when it happened, but security cameras were on and caught it all on camera and a bunch of Corvettes fell in (so sad) they had to be recovered out of the hole and the exhibit tells the story of what happened that day, why it happened, what cars were affected, how they were recovered & repaired, the caves that were discovered, how the building was fixed, and much much more. They created a manhole that leads into one side of the cave to provide access and you can actually see down into it through a window in the floor to see the sinkhole, over 30 feet down! So what I learned here was even in a museum things are not always safe AND there are caves and sink holes EVERYWHERE in Kentucky!
