Deer Island without a Deer

#celebratewithtrip Ever wonder what best can be done to an island? Well listen up, in Massachusetts, they converted a whole island into a wastewater treatment facility! Deer Island is a peninsula located in the capital of Massachusetts, City of Boston. Although an island by its name, it is actually connected to the mainland of Boston by the Shirley Gut channel. This bridge separates the island from the town of Winthrop. Today, the island boost its location of the Deer Island Waste Water Treatment Plant, whose 150-foot-tall egg-like sludge digesters (as seen in one of the photos) are major harbor landmarks in Massachusetts. #fallingforfall #spooktaculartrip
