Boston Public Garden🌳🍃

Boston Public Garden is one of the city's "Emerald Necklace" of parks. Take a swan boat ride, admire the beautifully manicured flower gardens, or relax under a tree and read a book. Located west of Boston Common, this area once contained salt marshes where Benjamin Franklin is said to have fished. Boston Public Garden was the first public botanical garden in the United States, built in 1837 with the support of Horace Gray. In contrast to Boston Common, which was built as a public park about 200 years ago, Boston Public Garden was designed with landscaping techniques in mind. The design today is not much different from when the park was completed in 1861. Take a stroll through one of Boston's most beautiful gardens. In the French-style flower garden and rose garden, you can enjoy about 80 types of plants and flowers. Don't miss the tulips in early May. Tulips were first imported by Horace Gray in 1830 and planted in Boston Public Garden. Relax under a tree and enjoy the beautiful scenery. See the various statues in the park, including a statue of George Washington, a statue commemorating the first use of ether anesthesia, and a statue based on the children's book The Ducks Are Coming. While you're in the park, take a stroll through the tranquil marsh. In summer, take a ride on the swan boats, which have been popular with visitors for over 130 years.
