This does not happen often, only at certain times of the year when birds begin to nest. However, all year round, the territory of the caves is guarded so that no one except tourists and people working here gets inside. During the mating season, birds begin to prepare a house for themselves and their chicks, mainly using their own feathers and saliva. The nests are said to be almost 100% protein and therefore have healing powers. Gomatong is one of the largest caves of its kind and is home to several bird nesting halls. In addition to them, there are also many bats, but during the day they almost do not show themselves.
