Stepping into Luofu Mountain early in the morning, this "Number One Mountain in Lingnan" greeted me with swirling mist. It is not only a majestic natural landmark but also a pure land of Taoist culture. During the Eastern Jin Dynasty, Ge Hong once gathered herbs and refined elixirs here, leaving the mountain and waters imbued with millennia of spiritual energy and wisdom. ⛰️ >> Chongxu Ancient Temple, Touch the Wisdom of Taoist Medicine’s Common Origin In front of the Chongxu Ancient Temple, nestled among ancient trees, incense curls upward, instantly enveloping you in a serene and solemn atmosphere. This is the Taoist sacred site founded by Ge Hong. The "Longevity Well" inside the temple has clear and cold spring water, said to have been used by Ge Hong for alchemy. Standing in the temple courtyard, imagining the sages healing the world and writing their teachings here, the weight of history is palpable. >> By Bailian Lake, Watch the Waterfall and Listen to the Clear Spring Walking along Bailian Lake, the sound of water gradually roars in your ears. The Baishili Waterfall hangs like a white ribbon in midair, with splashing droplets casting rainbows in the sunlight. We explored the secluded path by the herb-washing pool along the stream, where Ge Hong and his wife were said to often wash herbs. Soaking bare feet in the icy stream instantly washed away the fatigue of climbing and the summer heat. >> Climb to Feiyun Peak, Overlook the Mountains and Clear Your Mind We chose to take the cable car up to Eagle Beak Rock, then hike to the summit of Feiyun Peak. Standing at the 1,296-meter-high peak, clouds churn beneath our feet, and the continuous Luofu Mountain range stretches out before us. Looking far into the distance, the ancient temple and lake we passed become miniature landscapes, making the grandeur of nature and the smallness of oneself vividly clear. All worries seem to drift away with the wind.
