Songnisan Maltijae Recreation Forest
#koreatrip It is well-equipped with basic facilities and is a great place to relax in the forest at an affordable price. It's good to have your own car for grocery shopping. The facilities are old, but the air is very clean and the price is very good for the size. The bedding is very clean and the heating works well. It is definitely a good accommodation as it is close to the Songnisan tourist attraction.
Songnisan Sejo-gil Trailhead
#koreatrip Songnisan Sejo-gil is the road that King Sejo of the Joseon Dynasty took to Bokcheonam to visit his teacher, Master Shinmi. It is a place with many stories related to King Sejo, including the bathhouse where King Sejo is said to have taken a bath and got rid of his illness.
The course is about 4km from the entrance of Beopjusa Temple to Bokcheonam along the valley, and there is a rest area called Sesimjeong at the foot of Bokcheonam, where you can soothe your hungry stomach.
Donghak Farmers' Revolution Memorial Park
#koreatrip Donghak Peasant Revolution Memorial
Park is a revolutionary site. It's the most well-decorated park. The facilities are well decorated too. It is quiet and spacious, making it a great place for a walk. It was even more useful because there were plaques and explanations here and there to help you understand the history. There is a walking course and the water is clean, so you can see crayfish. Go and take some pictures.

Malti Mountain Pass (말티재)
This mountain with its 10 switchback corners has a special place in my heart. When I first got into long distance cycling, this was one of my favorite places to go. What might surprise you is that I enjoyed climbing it more than going down. However, it would eventually be closed to the public as they reinvigorated the area and installed a rest stop at the top. The 20m tall Matlijae Observatory opened in 2020 and overs a bird's eye view of the mountain slope.
It seems to be a popular place for drone fliers and photographers at this time of year. It is highly recommended to visit after hiking at Songrisan or visiting Beopjusa Temple.
It is said that this pass was first paved during the Goryeo Taejo Dynasty by laying stones through until the Joseon Dynasty. King Sejogave this pass its name when he stopped here. Malti means big pass. For locations is San 4-14, Jangjae-ri, Jangan-myeon, Boeun-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do.
Beautiful Autumn View Of Beopjusa Temple

The same goes for other landscapes, but flowers and autumn leaves are more important than where to go. If it's in time, you can see the best autumn leaves of your life, but if you go too fast, it's green.. If you go late, you will become a love that has disappeared along with the leaves, but I saw the peak scenery at Beopjusa Temple and Sejo-gil in Songnisan Mountain, a place worth visiting. The deck road continues along the pretty maple forest next to the valley to Sesimjeong. I think it's the prettiest section at the peak of autumn leaves. We finally arrived at the entrance of Sesimjeong. It's a tough road to this place for Deunglin and plantar fasciitis patients like me. We start hiking with Sesimjeong. If you go south, you will find Cheonwangbong Peak, the top of Songnisan Mountain, and if you go north, you will find Munjangdae, and you have walked almost all the legal hiking trails of Songnisan Mountain.

After touring Beopjusa Temple, I walked to Simsimjeong along the Sejo-gil of Songnisan Mountain, where the peak autumn leaves are located, and I can see a lot of yellow autumn leaves. Some sections of the road are not allowed to walk because they are under construction, but later I see that everyone is walking regardless. It's hard to control because there are so many people. I saw a typical autumn foliage scene where the mountainside around Suwon is also turned red. When I arrive at the forest of Sejo-gil in Songnisan Mountain, there is a red forest that is brightening everywhere. I'm traveling to Chungcheong-do from Mt. Seorak to Seoul and Gyeonggi-do along the autumn leaves, and I was lucky to see the peak of the autumn leaves in Songnisan Mountain.

There are so many valuable cultural assets in Beopjusa Temple that I only looked around the national treasures It is National Treasure No. 55, a five-story wooden tower with Palsangdo, which depicts the life of Sakyamuni in eight scenes. It was built when Beopjusa Temple was built, and it was burned during the Japanese Invasion of Korea in 15926, and it was rebuilt in 1626. I also saw a monk tapping a small Dharma drum (sogo) and practicing Buddhist prayer for a long time in the Palsangjeon Hall. I also saw a monk tapping a small Dharma drum (sogo) and practicing Buddhist prayer for a long time in the Palsangjeon Hall. Songnisan Beopjusa Stone Ryeonji, National Treasure No. 64, is estimated to have been made around 720. It is a rare stone sculpture that looks like a lotus floating around.

From the entrance of Beopjusa Temple to Simsimjeong Pavilion, the beautiful autumn leaves are long, and all the sections are superb. It's almost a maple tunnel between Songnisan Beopjusa Temple and Songnisan Sejo-gil, and the entire section is beautifully colored, but the peak ridge from Munjangdae to Cheonwangbong Peak is probably a landscape that has passed its peak. You can't see the ridges and the peak of autumn leaves in the valley at the same time. Sometimes there are green foliage that is not colored, so you will be able to see the pretty Songnisan foliage on the weekend of November 4th, although it is worse than now.

I've been looking at beautifully colored autumn leaves from the beginning It's the peak now, but there's a maple tree that hasn't been dyed somehow, so you'll be able to see the last Songnisan maple on the weekend of November. Even though it's around 9 o'clock, the cars are waiting indefinitely, but around 12:30 p.m., when they leave Sogli Mountain, Jegal, there were so many cars that there were about three hours of free flights. On the last holiday of October, you have to arrive at any tourist destination around 8 o'clock to park comfortably. It's good to have a suv car park so I don't feel stressed about parking at all.

Located at the base of Songrisan Mountain, Beopjusa Temple was initially built by the Silla monk, Uisin, in 553.
He named it "Beopju" which means, "Residence of Dharma" because of the number of Indian sutras he brought there. During the Goryeo Dynasty, it is said that over 3,000 monks resided here. Some artifacts include a large stone grain bin and a giant 20-ton iron pot. Both of which were needed to feed the many people there. Much of the temple was destroyed during the Japanese invasions (1592-1598). The large wooden pagoda (Palsangjeon) was rebuilt in 1624 and has been preserved since. It is the oldest and tallest pagoda in Korea. Another prominent feature of Beopjusa is the ~30m tall golden Maitreya statue. Beopjusa is one of seven sansa (mountain temples) inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List (2018).
Here is something interesting: Bruce Lee chose Beopjusa for his movie, Game of Death. However, after his untimely death, Beopjusa was edited out of the film.

Beautiful Autumn View of Boeun Miniature Park
#fallingseason
This small park in a small village was hard to find because it was down some tiny concrete roads. It houses small replicas of famous areas around Boeun. You might recognize some of the places from my recent posts. I thought it was a fun little place but I don't think it has received enough care recently. Still, I like miniature parks, so I enjoyed it.
For locations is 213 Sandae-ri, Sano-myeon, Boeun-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do.
