Berlin / Germany

A number of friends recommend me to visit Berlin, which I duly did. The majority of Berlin however is populated by modern, inmemorable multi-storey office and apartment blocks, which is what I spend most of my time walking past in order to reach the interesting buildings.

Berlin Wall Memorial

A must-see if you land in Berlin: the Berlin Wall Memorial! 🏙️🌧️ If you love history, the Berlin Wall Memorial (Bernauer Str. 111, 13355 Berlin) is open every day from 8:00 to 22:00—so you can catch it early before the crowds or later for an atmospheric stroll. I went during autumn and the weather was classic northern Euro: windy, chilly, and sometimes rainy. Layer up! Bring a windbreaker and maybe a warm hat. Take advantage of the moody clouds for awesome photos—ruins and remnants of the Wall look extra dramatic against the grey sky. 🌫️🌳 Walking along Bernauer Straße, you get close-ups of building facades, clever architecture, and sections of Wall that really drive home the city’s modern/cultural mash-up. It's an outdoor cultural landscape, so if it’s pouring, stash a mini umbrella. Key tips: check opening hours, dress for unpredictable weather, and walk the whole stretch for the best photos. Don’t forget to read the info panels—real stories give you a gut-punch of context. #BerlinCityWalk #BerlinHistory #BerlinWall #TravelTips #FallTravel #falladventures

Borsigturm

🍁 Industrial Elegance Meets Autumn Charm at Borsigturm, Berlin For history buffs and lovers of modern architecture, Borsigturm is a unique must-see—especially during Berlin’s golden fall. With crunchy maple leaves carpeting the ground, the iconic tower’s historic façade and crisp lines feel even more atmospheric under shifting autumn sunlight. Borsigturm Visit Route: Kick off your stroll at Am Borsigturm, 13507 Berlin. Wander through the leafy outdoor plaza—the 60m tower rising above you creates an impressive, industrial-meets-historic vibe. Take time to admire the factory entrance and the Western-style architectural details up close (your sunny day image captured the textures perfectly!). Must-Do Activities: ✔️ Snap the classic “tower and leaves” shot: Look for a patch of fallen maple leaves to frame the vertical structure for a bold insta-worthy angle. ✔️ Get a close-up with the flower beds or modern sculptures dotted around—autumn’s light really pops here. ✔️ Pause in nearby cafes for a Berlin coffee break and people-watching. Photo Tip: Aim for varied weather shots for mood—contrast sunny building shots with the occasional rainy, cloud-draped ambiance. It brings out the raw beauty of Berlin’s industrial heritage. Visiting Tips: Arrive early or late afternoon for softer light and fewer crowds. The outdoor area is accessible year-round, but fall offers a magical touch—just mind slippery leaves on rainy days. Waterproof shoes recommended! Precaution: Watch for slick wet leaves near steps and entrances; some spots might get extra slippery in rainy weather. #Berlin #Borsigturm #AutumnVibes #ModernArchitecture #OutdoorCulture
