A Beijing hutong tour is a must, and we recommend Dongsi Sitiao Hutong.

👉Dongsi Sitiao Hutong runs east-west, starting from Chaoyangmen Beixiaojie in the east and ending at Dongsi Beidajie in the west. The middle section connects to Dongsi Santiao in the south and Dongsi Wutiao in the north. It is 726 meters long and 7 meters wide. In the Ming Dynasty, it belonged to Sichengfang and was called Sitiao Hutong. In the Qing Dynasty, it belonged to the Plain White Banner and retained the name Sitiao Hutong. After 1949, it was renamed Dongsi Sitiao. 👍Numbers 1, 3, and 5 Dongsi Sitiao were originally the residences of Mianyi, a member of the Qing imperial clan. Mianyi, also known as Da Zhai, was a relative of the Daoguang Emperor and served as Vice Minister of Rites during the Tongzhi period. His descendants have the surname Jin. Due to his high status within the imperial clan, locals referred to his house as the "Emperor's Uncle's House." The residence is well-preserved and currently serves as a dormitory for a certain organization. Number 3 Dongsi Sitiao is listed in the third batch of registered cultural heritage sites in Dongcheng District. 🌈Entering the west entrance of Sitiao Hutong, you'll see a few bamboo trees (Picture 3). Not far from there is the building in Picture 2, which appears to be from the Republican era. There are many other unique buildings inside, waiting for you to discover.
