The best place to spend $12 in Beijing. It's hard for me to describe a place as shocking.

📍Location: Imperial Ancestral Temple (Workers’ Cultural Palace, Beijing) 🚇Transportation: Metro Line 1, Tiananmen East Exit B / Metro Line 8, Goldfish Hutong Exit C, walk west for 15 minutes 🕙Opening hours: 7:00-18:00, last admission at 17:00 🎫Tickets: 2 dollars, Xiandian: 10 dollars in off-season, 15 dollars in peak season 🚶‍♂️Route: Enter through the East Gate - Prince's Forest - Five-Colored Gate - Ji Gate - Hall of Worship - Sleeping Hall Having lived in Beijing for more than ten years, I only knew about the Forbidden City but not the Imperial Ancestral Temple next to it. It was not until a friend introduced it to me that I knew that this is what is meant by "peixiang Taimiao", which means that the tablets of meritorious officials are enshrined in the Taimiao together with the emperor. This is the largest royal ancestral temple, where emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties worshipped their ancestors. After visiting it, I was completely amazed, and it left a lasting impression❗ Some people call this place the "alternative" to the Forbidden City. Personally, I don't think it has any derogatory meaning. First, the ticket price of 2 dollars is indeed cheap. Second, compared with the huge crowds in the Forbidden City, there are very few people here. There is no need to make an appointment, just buy the ticket now. The red walls, yellow tiles, and magnificent scenery you want to see can be seen here. I also saw many young ladies taking photos in princess costumes here, and the photos looked like they were in the Forbidden City 😂! 🔴Main highlights: ❶Xiang Hall: It is 2 meters higher than the Hall of Supreme Harmony in the Forbidden City. The top of the hall is decorated with exquisite golden spiral paintings. In the middle stands 68 golden nanmu pillars, each of which is said to be worth 2.8 billion yuan. ❷The words "Taimiao" on the plaque of the Xian Hall were written by Emperor Shunzhi ❸ Zhonghuahe Bell: This bell was created based on the Zenghouyi chime bells. It was rung on January 1, 2000 to welcome the millennium, so it is called the "First Bell of the Millennium". 📷Filming equipment: Canon R62+rf24-70mm F2.8 Thanks to the little model who broke into my camera, I have sent it to her mother!
