Mutianyu Great Wall One-Day Tour Guide

He who has never been to the Great Wall is not a true hero. A trip to Beijing must include a visit to the Great Wall. We drove here ourselves. It's relatively close to the city center, and the underground parking lot has plenty of spaces at 5 RMB/hour. There are three ways to explore the wall: 1. Hiking: From Enemy Tower 1 to Enemy Tower 20. The path between Towers 1 and 2 is a bit rough. 2. Chairlift: This is what we chose. With your legs dangling, those afraid of heights like me can only close their eyes the whole way up. If you're not afraid of heights, the gentle breeze is quite comfortable, and you can enjoy the scenery below! The chairlift's final stop is Enemy Tower 6. From Tower 6 to Tower 20 (about 2.4 km), it takes about 2 hours to walk with stops along the way. There are spots where the movie "If You Are the One" was filmed, viewpoints overlooking the "China Zun" building, and more. The mountain is well-vegetated and is said to offer different scenery in each season. Visiting during this season gives a sense of desolate beauty, but the few early-blooming magnolias and peach blossoms along the way are a pleasant surprise. The scenery a short walk from Tower 6 is also quite nice, and you can stroll around after getting off the chairlift. 3. Cable car: From Enemy Tower 12 to Tower 20, this section is considered the essence of the Mutianyu Great Wall. The Great Wall is truly magnificent and awe-inspiring. It's worth a visit! The wild cats on the Great Wall appear to be leisurely strolling, but they are actually the winners of survival of the fittest. Food and drinks on the Great Wall are not cheap, so it's recommended to bring your own. Enemy Tower 20 is quite steep, and you'll need to use both hands and feet for the last few steps (O(∩_∩)O). I practically slid down on my bottom. Other sections are not difficult to walk. Tickets: 45 RMB + 15 RMB for a round-trip shuttle bus (3 km). Remember to keep your ticket, as you'll need it for the return shuttle. Cable car: 140 RMB round-trip Chairlift (open-air): 140 RMB round-trip (you can choose to slide down).
