West Mountain National Forest Park is an ideal place to climb and enjoy the fall in the suburbs of Beijing. With a great view, fewer people, and beautiful scenery, West Mountain is the perfect alternative to Xiangshan! Every late fall, I climb West Mountain to enjoy the red leaves, so I know the scenic area well. To be honest, the highest peak of West Mountain, Guixiao Stone, is a bit difficult to climb, but fortunately, you don't have to reach the top to enjoy the fall scenery. In my opinion, the best places to enjoy the fall in West Mountain are the following three places: 📍Banshan Pavilion: Located halfway up the mountain on the way to Guixiao Stone, it is not difficult to climb. It is a resting place and supply station for climbing the main peak, as well as a viewing point with a wide view and great scenery, overlooking the panoramic view of Beijing. 📍Red Leaf Ridge: Continue from Banshan Pavilion to Guixiao Stone, and you will reach Red Leaf Ridge. Here, there are many colorful trees such as yellow oak, making it the best place to enjoy the red leaves in West Mountain. While climbing, you can look back and take pictures of Banshan Pavilion, Yufeng Tower of Yuquan Mountain, and the Central TV Tower surrounded by red leaves. Most of the pictures in this article were taken in this area. 📍Huaxi: Located upstream of the waterfall at the park entrance, it is a 480-meter-long natural canyon. The scenic area uses the original canyon terrain to carefully stack stones, water, and trees to create a beautiful forest environment with fresh air. In summer, Huaxi is a great place to play in the water and cool off. In late fall, the colorful trees in the canyon change color, creating a beautiful ecological picture with the rocks and water. These photos were taken on November 4. As the temperature drops, early winter has quietly arrived in Beijing, and this year's red leaf viewing season has come to an end.
