I'm obsessed with ancient architecture and love capturing its beauty with my camera. When I went to Beijing to meet a friend, I discovered the "Beijing Ancient Architecture Museum" nearby. I couldn't resist my curiosity and had to check it out! 😉 Did you know? This trip was truly eye-opening. I had never seen a "caisson" before, but here, every hall had one, each more stunning than the last. The feeling of awe was indescribable. It's very convenient to take the subway. Take Line 8 to Tianqiao Station, exit at D, and walk for about 10 minutes. ⌚️Opening hours: 9:00 am to 5:00 pm daily, but note that entry closes at 4:30 pm. Exhibits are mainly in the Taisui Hall, Baidian Hall, and West Hall. The Taisui Hall houses two treasures: the Ming Dynasty Longfu Temple caisson, a must-see. ❷ The first caisson is the Pilu Hall caisson with a dragon pattern. It's a masterpiece, using small woodwork and carvings to create a unique geometric beauty. Every detail is exquisite, like a finely crafted artwork. ❸ The second caisson is the Wanshan Zhengjue Hall caisson, with six layers. The 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 5th layers depict heavenly palaces, with 28 star deities painted below. The top features a star map with 1,490 stars, like a condensed starry sky. It's breathtaking. ❹ The scenery outside the hall is also charming. The windows, doors, and eaves are all exquisite. Don't just focus on the caissons; appreciate the ancient charm in every detail. This is an ancient architecture museum, with wisdom and craftsmanship in every corner.
