Xiaoju Hutong is located in the northeast of Dongcheng District, Beijing, starting from Daju Hutong in the north and ending at Dongsi 44th Alley in the south. The history of this hutong can be traced back to the Ming Dynasty, when it was called Juzi Hutong. During the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, the northern section was called Chunshu Hutong, and the southern section was called Juer Hutong. By the Xuantong period, it was officially named Xiaoju Hutong and has been used ever since. In March 2022, Xiaoju Hutong was included in the "Protection List of Traditional Place Names in the Core Area of the Capital (First Batch of Streets and Hutongs)", reflecting its importance in historical and cultural protection. It is next to the food street in Dongzhimen, so you can arrange to visit them together.
