The main building of the China Art Museum has 21 exhibition halls from the 1st to the 6th floor. The main building is in the style of an ancient pavilion, with a large roof covered with yellow glazed tiles and surrounded by corridors, showcasing a distinct national architectural style. The main building covers an area of more than 18,000 square meters, with 21 exhibition halls on six floors, totaling an exhibition area of 6,660 square meters; there is a 3,000 square meter sculpture garden around the building; in 1995, a modern collection storage was built, covering an area of 4,100 square meters.
