A sunny CNY gateway in Gubei Water Town

With the CNY holidays and the ongoing winter olimpics games traveling outside the chinese capital has been quite difficult. For these reasons we decided for a tranquil staycation in Miyun district in the northern area of Beijing for having a feeling of traveling and holidays. we stayed in a homestay close to the water town, it was easily reachable with a cab and if you wanted to as well by foot. we spent one day in the water town, it was a bit cold but worth the clean sky and air. I was a little skeptical going there, but I was positively surprised by the not too touristy atmosphere of that day. even though you can see the latest men work, i could appreciate the beneath original architecture and structure and it was very different from the closer cities. i really liked it and if you have one day to spare during your travel or stay in Beijing you can visit it, it's worth it. i suggest to stay one night and go up to the Simatai great wall from inside the city and have a view from above surrounded by the lanterns and the stars. #staycation #极光#来这看最美日落#慢生活#登山#tigeryear2022
