China Film Museum, a paradise for movie lovers

It is located at No. 9 Nanying Road, Chaoyang District, Beijing, and is the world's largest national-level professional film museum! 🏗️Construction began in 2002, completed in 2005, and opened to the public in 2007. It covers an area of 52 acres, with a building area of nearly 38,000 square meters. 🎁The museum houses more than 40,000 items, with 21 exhibition halls, a total exhibition area of about 13,000 square meters, an exhibition line length of 2970 meters, and 8 national first-class collections. 🌟The exterior of the building is very distinctive. The giant screen in front of the main building and the slanted wall on the square resemble a "clapperboard." The interior uses black, white, and gray colors, with colored glass surfaces representing different functional areas. 👀The museum layout is rich. The first floor has a themed exhibition celebrating the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. The second to fourth floors showcase the century-long development of Chinese cinema. There are also 6 screening rooms, including an IMAX theater, which can accommodate more than 1,000 people at the same time. It also screens public welfare films and holds themed screenings. 💖The basic exhibits include the Film Art Exhibition Hall and the Film Technology Exhibition Area. The special exhibition area consists of multiple exhibition halls and exhibition areas, showcasing various aspects of film. 📜Important collections include Zheng Zhengqiu's study, old projectors, and precious photo negatives. 🎉There are many cultural activities here, such as competitions, social education, screenings, etc. 👍It has also won many honors, such as being rated as a social classroom resource unit for primary and secondary school students in Beijing, selected as a national first-class museum, and named a national patriotic education demonstration base. 🕙During the peak season (April 1 to October 31), the exhibition area is open from Tuesday to Thursday from 9:00 to 17:00 (entry stops at 16:30), and extended hours on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and public holidays (entry stops at 19:00, the central rotunda and first-floor exhibition hall are open until 20:00). The cinema's opening hours are based on the screening schedule, which can be checked through the WeChat public account.
