A Sunny Spring Morning at Temple of Heaven

Located downtown in Beijing, China, Temple of Heaven is a really beautiful and unique place to visit! I went here in March, on a beautiful sunny day ~ it was off peak season but there were still large crowds of people. 🚇 Transport: Take Line 5 to Tiantan East Gate Station (exit A) or Line 8 to Tianqiao Station (exit C). The quickest route in is from the East side. Upon entering the park, it felt so authentically Chinese. There were aunties dancing, playing sports and uncles playing mahjong. I found myself stopping to watch all of these activities and how peaceful the surroundings were. There is a brilliant photo opportunity down the pine and cypress tree path, with Temple of Heaven in the distance at the end. 🎫 Buy tickets online in advance or scan the QR code. Tickets are relatively cheap, only 15rmb in peak season or 10rmb during off peak times. Once I had my ticket and got into the actual Hall of Prayer area, it was much busier. There are so many people but it’s still possible to take good photos. I recommend going to the North side, near the old North gate, where there are less people gathering. Here you can take photos with less crowds in the background. 📸 Overall, I really enjoyed my time at Temple of Heaven and the surrounding park. It’s a lovely place to slow down and enjoy the culture of Beijing 🇨🇳☀️ #mytravelhacks #historicallandmarks #北京 #中国 #chinatravel
