Xunjunwang Mansion

Xunjunwang Mansion is located at No. 13 and No. 15 Fangjia Hutong inside Andingmen, Beijing. The title of Xunjunwang was posthumously awarded to Yongzhang, the third son of Emperor Qianlong. The mansion was later built according to the standards of a Beile Mansion for the adopted heir, Mianyi. The western main courtyard (No. 15) is one of the few remaining mansions with the layout of a Beile Mansion, which had a main hall with five rooms (now demolished), and the rear courtyard still has the main rooms and side rooms. The eastern wing courtyard was a garden and residential area. The eastern part consists of a complete set of large quadrangle courtyards, divided into the main courtyard, middle courtyard, and rear courtyard, with similar layouts, including northern rooms and east-west side rooms. It is a key cultural relic protected by Beijing Municipality. Xunjunwang Mansion is located in Fangjia Hutong, south of the Imperial College in Dongcheng District. Facing south with the north at its back, the original building area was 1210 square meters. The main courtyard is in the west (No. 15), with the main gate facing the street, and there is a screen wall to the south of the street. The main hall inside the gate with five rooms has been demolished, and the rear courtyard still has the main rooms and side rooms. Almost nothing remains of the east and west wing courtyards. The original eastern wing courtyard was larger and included a garden and residential area, where now only a few ancient trees and piled stones remain. Further east is a complete set of courtyards (No. 13), with a spacious courtyard and neat houses, rebuilt on the original site.
