| A Great Place to Take Kids: The National Museum of Natural History.👏👏 The National Museum of Natural History is located at No. 126 South Street of Tianqiao in Dongcheng District, Beijing. It is the first large-scale natural history museum built by China after the founding of the People's Republic of China and is affiliated with the Beijing Academy of Science and Technology. In 2008, it was rated as a national first-level museum by the State Administration of Cultural Heritage of China, mainly engaged in the collection, scientific research, and public education of specimens in the fields of paleontology, zoology, botany, and anthropology. 👍 The National Museum of Natural History covers an area of over 15,000 square meters, with a building area of over 21,000 square meters and an exhibition hall area of over 10,000 square meters. The museum houses a total of 353,000 specimens, including a collection of large complete fossil mammals that ranks second in the world. The fossils of the Yellow River ancient elephants, dinosaurs, and other fossil specimens are well-known worldwide. 👉 The museum has 11 basic exhibition halls, which are set up according to the history of life's occurrence and development on Earth, including 'The Origin of Early Life,' 'The Prosperity of Invertebrates,' 'Ancient Reptiles,' 'Ancient Mammals,' 'The Plant World,' 'The Origin of Humans,' 'Animals - Friends of Humans,' 'Into the Human Body,' 'Magical Africa,' 'Dinosaur Park,' and 'Aquatic Life.' On average, 8 to 10 original exhibitions are launched each year, and the museum receives 1.8 million visitors annually. ❗️❗️ The National Museum of Natural History has been named 'National Science Popularization Education Base' and 'Beijing Science Popularization Education, Research and Development, Media Base' by the Publicity Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the Beijing Municipal Government, respectively. It was named 'Science and Peace Education Base' by the Chinese National Commission for UNESCO. On June 5, 2023, the National Museum of Natural History officially opened in Beijing, marking a new chapter in the development of China's natural history museums.
