As the Spring Festival approaches, a festive atmosphere pervades all the major shopping districts across the city. Tour groups, along with local residents doing their pre-festival shopping, have made the shopping districts extremely lively. In the Qianmen shopping district, beneath Zhengyang Gate, along Xianyukou Street, and on the Qianmen pedestrian street, crowds throng around the time-honored brands and new consumer spaces. Many famous snack shops have long queues at their doors, as the Spring Festival atmosphere has arrived early.
