Yanqi Lake: Located 8 kilometers north of Huairou District at the foot of the Yanshan Mountains, it is a water and land area centered around the lake, with picturesque scenery and clear waters. Every spring and autumn, flocks of wild geese often come to rest in the lake, hence the name. Since 1986, the Huairou District government has continuously increased its investment in Yanqi Lake, and has successively built some scenic spots. It has now become a popular place for Beijing residents to relax and travel during holidays, and in 2000 it was rated as a national AAAA-level scenic spot by the National Tourism Administration. On November 5, 2014, the APEC summit kicked off at Yanqi Lake in Beijing, and in early May 2017, the 'Belt and Road' international summit was held. The summits have made Yanqi Lake's name famous. The scenic area is mainly divided into several parts: the first is the core area, namely the Yanqi Island (Yanqi Peninsula) Conference Center and its supporting facilities (Xia Garden, Yanqi Island Hotel, and villa group), the second is the Beijing Yanqi Lake International Convention and Exhibition Center on the shore and the supporting Beijing Sunrise East Kempinski Hotel (part of the Yanqi Lake International Conference City), the third is the natural landscape belt on the lake surface, the fourth is various play areas, and the fifth is the lake area style street and nearby towns.
