The main route is from Donghuamen to Wumen to the Working People's Cultural Palace. This route doesn't require booking Forbidden City tickets in advance, yet you can still appreciate the charm of the Forbidden City. The distance is not far, and it's very comfortable to walk. If you're short on time, you can walk to Wumen and then return the same way. If you have more time, you can also take a stroll around the perimeter of the Forbidden City. I saw many local friends jogging along this route as part of their morning exercise. Because it's morning, the river water shimmers with the reflection of the dawn light and the first rays of the sun, casting a golden filter over the distant buildings, while the architecture of the Forbidden City is even more majestic and spectacular against the backdrop of the blue sky and white clouds.
