National security check-in: Tianning Temple Pagoda

After leaving Baiyun Guan, walk about a kilometer and you can reach the Tianning Temple Pagoda. Although the original temple of the Tianning Temple Pagoda has been destroyed and only the pagoda remains, it is the third batch of national key cultural relics protection units, ancient architecture, Liao Dynasty. The style of the Tianning Temple Pagoda is robust, rebuilt in the ninth year of Liao Tianqing (119), it is an octagonal thirteen-level secret eave brick pagoda, with a total height of 57.8 meters, it is the tallest ancient pagoda in Beijing. The base of the pagoda is carved with lion heads, sitting Buddhas, and strong men. Each side of the pagoda body is carved with arches, false doors or blind windows, and panlong columns are placed at the corners. Around the doors and windows are high reliefs of heavenly kings, bodhisattvas, flying sky, arhats, and canopies. Each layer of the pagoda is equipped with bucket arches. The Cishou Temple Pagoda, built in the fourth year of Ming Wanli (1576), imitates the construction of the Tianning Temple Pagoda. Sitting under the pagoda and daydreaming, looking at the exquisite carvings of the Liao Dynasty, is also a pleasure.
