Just got back from Beihai with the kids and I've put together a 3-day, 2-night budget-friendly, hassle-free guide for you all, definitely worth saving~ 🚉About transportation: 🚄: Departing from "Guangzhou South" to "Beihai Station" takes about 5 hours, costing 323r for adults and 162r for children 🚖: Upon arrival, take a taxi to the hotel. The city is small, so getting around is easy. 🏨About accommodation: We stayed at the well-established five-star "Beihai Shangri-La Hotel", which I highly recommend for families. It offers a one-stop solution for eating, staying, and playing! The hotel is clean and sanitary, with rooms facing the sea. A 5-minute walk through the hotel's back garden takes you to the beach for sea foraging and shell picking, which is very comfortable due to the fewer people! There are also fun parent-child activities; my daughter and I DIY'd a shell🐚 wind chime. The hotel has several Chinese and Western restaurants with great value for money. Among them, I recommend the Xianggong Chinese Restaurant, a local place where people come specially for morning tea. At the end of the cluster of buildings is a sea alleyway. When in Beihai, you must visit the Old Street to experience the history, culture, and local life of Beihai. Nearby famous attractions include: 📍Impression 1876, 📍Former British Consulate, 📍Old Post Office of the Qing Dynasty. ✅Beihai Seafood Market Two floors in total, with dried seafood on the first floor and pearl jewelry on the second. The last stop here is perfect for buying souvenirs. It's a 15-minute drive from the return high-speed rail station, the items are affordable, and you can start bargaining for pearl earrings and bracelets from a few tens of yuan, remember to haggle!
