Snake Temple - Penang, Malaysia

Snake Temple is a very important religious landmark of Penang. It was built in honor of Chor Soo Kong, a Buddhist monk who, during his lifetime, had close contact with animals, including snakes. When he died, a temple was built on the place of his house, in which, for unknown reasons, snakes began to live. The snakes are free to come and go so sometimes you may find a lot and sometimes there may not be any.
