Originally a British military fortress in the 1930s, it fell to Japanese forces in 1942, becoming a site of horror and imprisonment. Abandoned for decades, founder Johari Shafie restored it, preserving its history. Today, the museum offers a vivid portrayal of wartime life, with well-preserved structures and exhibits. Visitors, like Nasrullah, are moved by the museum's immersive experience, reflecting on the wartime atrocities depicted.
