Cuopu Lake: A Feast for the Eyes

On July 2, 2024, we visited the Cuopu Lake National Forest Park, located on the banks of the Jinsha River in western Ganzi Prefecture, Sichuan Province, at the junction of Sichuan, Yunnan, and Tibet in Batang County. After purchasing tickets at the visitor center, we drove our RV into the scenic area. Along the way, the scenery of the Zhande Prairie was picturesque and boundless—green and blue grasses, shrubs, and colorful wildflowers swayed in the breeze, delighting our spirits! The prairie is surrounded by rolling high peaks, with mountaintops perennially covered in ice and snow, forming a breathtaking landscape with the lush flowers and green grass... Steaming hot springs are scattered across the hillsides, cliffs, riverbanks, woodlands, and meadows, large and small, each with its own shape... Many stories from one of the world's famous epics, 'The Epic of King Gesar,' took place on this magical land, with the scenery and relics of King Gesar scattered like pearls in every corner of the park... Huge glacial boulders created by ancient glacial movements are visible everywhere. The bedrock of the mountains is exposed, with precipitous cliffs and uniquely shaped rocks... The breathtaking natural scenery blends with the cultural landscape, not only embodying profound Tibetan cultural connotations but also offering high natural aesthetic value!
